The astronomers of NASA's Artemis II mission continued their journey to the moon on Sunday after they had already traveled two thirds of the way and were able to place portions of the unobserved moon surface so far by humans. In a new image, you can see the East Base on the right side of the moon. This mission is first marked when the entire pool has been seen with human eyes.
The astronomers of Artemis II — who will survive the Moon — are already able to see the 'Grand Canyon of the Moon', a deformation of the moon surface. "The vision we already have is special," says astronomer Victor Glover.
There are new images of the mission Artemis II from space. Astronauts have already spoken to Earth and described what they are seeing and hearing.
At 11:00 a.m., the Orion probe had already passed more than 245,000 km since its launch on Thursday. As they approached its goal, "The Moon is getting bigger," the astronauts commented.
