I live just beyond the reach of most streetlights, so when the moon is out, it's the only light that casts shadows. Even when the moon's just a sliver, once my eyes have adjusted to the darkness I can discern my stretched silhouette on the dirt road ahead. A few nights ago, a half-moon held sway.
