Associa Cares Canada Announces $100,000 Earmark for British Columbia Wildfire Relief
The charity said the funds will provide direct, no-strings-attached grants to residents and communities facing evacuations and home destruction.
On Monday, Associa Cares Canada announced a $100,000 earmark to provide financial relief to residents and communities affected by wildfires in British Columbia following widespread evacuations.
Since 2022, the national charity has distributed nearly $300,000 to more than 200 families and communities in crisis, establishing a consistent pattern of targeted disaster support.
Relief funds will be granted directly to applicants as no-strings-attached financial grants, bypassing complex eligibility barriers to accelerate access for displaced residents seeking urgent recovery support.
Recovery efforts vary for every resident, said Craig Rumsby, branch president of Associa British Columbia, Inc., noting that aid addresses needs ranging from immediate assistance to rebuilding resources.
Danika Knoop, executive director of Associa Cares, expressed solidarity with those facing the wildfires' impact, emphasizing the organization's commitment to delivering meaningful support during recovery.
