On two occasions, the mayor of Cholet, Jean-Yves Bourdouleix, voted by his Municipal Council or the Community Council of Agglomération des délibérations to grant him responsibility for his costs of justice in matters concerning him as a person and not as a mayor, and the Nantes Administrative Tribunal, heeded by the municipal opposition, recognised the illegality of this practice.
