Asian Games: Antim, Aman storm into wrestling finals, Sagar and Deepak fight for bronze

On Saturday at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, wrestlers Antim Panghal and Aman Sehrawat secured spots in their respective gold-medal finals, while teammates Sagar Jaglan and Deepak Punia advanced to compete for bronze medals.
India's wrestling success contributes to the nation's total medal tally of 77, comprising 17 gold, 25 silver, and 35 bronze medals, as athletes continue delivering strong performances across multiple disciplines.
Antim reached the 53kg final after three victories, including a 6-1 semifinal win, while Aman staged a remarkable comeback to secure his 57kg final berth with a 14-8 victory against Tajikistan's Aiaal Belolyubskii.
After an 8-9 semifinal loss to Uzbekistan's Sherzod Poyonov in the 97kg category, Deepak secured his bronze-medal bout, joining Sagar, who defeated Uzbekistan's Razambek Jamalov 7-3 to stay in contention.
Beyond the wrestling mat, 17-year-old Kumkum Mohod won gold in the individual recurve archery event, while India's women's rugby team defeated Singapore 22-5 and golfer Pranavi Urs maintained her lead.
