Artemis II crew gets hero's welcome at Canadian Space Agency headquarters in Quebec
The crew answered questions from officials and the public after a 10-day flight that took them farther from Earth than any humans before.
The Artemis crew received a hero's welcome at Canadian Space Agency headquarters in Longueuil, Que., following their 10-day mission to the far side of the moon.
Commander Reid Wiseman, Jeremy Hansen, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch traveled farther from Earth than any humans before them, with Wiseman noting the international crew's diverse perspectives strengthened the mission.
On Wednesday, the crew visited Parliament Hill and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, where Hansen presented Prime Minister Mark Carney with the Canadian flag that flew around the moon.
Industry Minister Joly hosted a public question-and-answer session alongside Artemis capsule communicator Jenni Gibbons, who represented the team at NASA's Mission Control Center during the mission.
Koch and Glover noted they previously trained in Canada, emphasizing that the Canadian Space Agency feels like home to them as the mission concludes.
