Real Madrid & Barcelona Already Circling for Erling Haaland Transfer Amid Man City Crisis
- Norway manager Stale Solbakken stood Erling Haaland down from media duties ahead of Sunday's match against Portugal, shielding the striker from scrutiny following Manchester City's guilty verdict.
- Last week, Manchester City was found guilty of 114 of 115 charges by the Premier League, throwing football into turmoil and prompting Solbakken to prioritize Haaland's focus on international duties.
- Solbakken cited former City midfielder Rodri's recent press conference previewing Spain's match against England, where external questions dominated. "We naturally want him to focus and have the best possible conditions to prepare," Solbakken said.
- Despite the media restriction, Haaland scored against Portugal on Sunday, though Norway lost 2-1. Solbakken noted the striker remained "very good" and focused on "scoring goals" during the match.
- Norway travels to Cardiff City Stadium to face Wales on Thursday. Teammate Ajer confirmed Haaland's demeanor remains unchanged: "He's been exactly the way he's always the same with the national team.
