MONTREAL'S LASALLE BOROUGH, AUG 3 – A 37-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving after a woman was found seriously injured and later died, with police continuing to investigate using surveillance and witness accounts.
- A 37-year-old woman was discovered seriously injured on the pavement in LaSalle on Sunday and later died in hospital.
- Jeanne Drouin, Montreal police spokesperson, said a 37-year-old man was arrested for driving while impaired by alcohol and confirmed a vehicle was involved.
- At the scene, police established a perimeter and will review surveillance footage and go door-to-door in nearby apartment buildings, Brabant said.
- Jeanne Drouin said the arrested man was taken to a detention centre and is expected to meet investigators later today.
- Authorities remain on scene as the SPVM investigation continues, following a 911 call at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday.
