Fifita Throws 4 Touchdown Passes in Arizona’s 34-24 Win over Washington State
Fifita completed four touchdown passes and Arizona scored on four straight drives to erase a 14-point deficit.
On Saturday, Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita threw for 297 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Wildcats to a 34-24 comeback victory over Washington State Cougars at Gesa Field in Pullman, Wash.
Washington State built an early 14-0 lead after safety Jackquintin Bal returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown, but Arizona outscored the Cougars 34-10 after the opening quarter.
Wide receiver Tre Spivey fueled Arizona's offense with seven catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns, while kicker Michael Salgado-Medina sealed the win with a 51-yard field goal.
Washington State quarterback Caden Pinnick completed 24 of 41 passes for 241 yards, but the Cougars managed just 94 rushing yards while struggling to adjust to Arizona's pass rush.
Arizona concludes nonconference play and hosts the Cincinnati Bearcats next Saturday, Oct. 3, at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucson, marking the Bearcats' first-ever trip to the city.
