Ari Emmanuel Snaps up West End Theatre Group ATG for £4.5bn
The deal would expand Mari’s theater portfolio as ATG’s revenue rose nearly 5% to €924 million in the year to March 2025, filings show.
- Mari, the global events company founded by Ari Emanuel, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire theater giant ATG Entertainment from Providence Equity Partners for a reported $6 billion.
- Expanding its portfolio, Mari previously acquired ticketing firm TodayTix in October 2025, positioning the company to strengthen its foothold in live entertainment.
- Melanie Smith, global chief executive of ATG Entertainment, said Mari "understands live entertainment" and represents "the right home for our next chapter," with ATG retaining its existing brand and creative independence.
- Emanuel called the acquisition a "long-term bet on where live goes next," emphasizing that live entertainment uniquely connects great talent with audiences directly.
- Regulatory approval is required before the deal closes, with both companies operating independently until then; the acquisition reshapes Broadway, where ATG owns seven venues among 41 total.
