Argentine freed from Venezuelan prison urges pressure to release remaining prisoners
Argentine Nahuel Gallo was imprisoned in Venezuela for 448 days and urged the international community to pressure interim President Delcy Rodríguez to release other detainees.
Gallo stated, “I think we’re still imprisoned until our fellow inmates are freed,” showing solidarity with other prisoners.
During nearly 15 months detained in Rodeo I prison, Gallo endured beatings, poor medical care, and psychological pressure.
After his release, Gallo met with U.S. Ambassador Peter Lamelas, who condemned the Maduro regime's use of arbitrary detention for political repression.
