Apple Makes Siri AI the Focus of Its New Apple TV 4K
The redesigned streaming box adds hands-free Siri AI, an A19 chip, and support for a four-speaker HomePod surround setup.
- In CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA, Apple today unveiled the new Streamer, featuring an updated A19 chip and three far-field microphones for Siri integration.
- At $299, the device is $100 more than the previous generation and $150 more than a Google Streamer, matching Nvidia's Shield Pro pricing amid recent market increases.
- Apple claims the A19 chip delivers 50% faster processing and twice the graphics performance, while the device pairs with HomePod Mini to create surround audio and functions as an Apple Home hub.
- To address misplaced remotes, the company introduced a cable-based Remote Retention system with a dial lock. "For years, Customers have asked us to make the remote harder to lose," a spokesperson said.
- The device is available Now for preorder with retail launch Nov. 13 at $299. Customers can finance the purchase for $49.83 for six months, with Cable Plus extension available separately for $29.99.
