Apple Could Launch Two New Apple Pencils Next Spring Alongside the iPad Pro
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is developing two new Apple Pencils for release in the first half of 2027, internally codenamed B582 and B632, alongside updated iPad Pro models.
Apple is working to conform to new European Union regulations requiring portable electronic devices to feature user-replaceable batteries by 2027, which could influence the design of upcoming Apple Pencils.
It has been nearly three years since the last USB-C Apple Pencil refresh, and iFixit has deemed all Apple Pencil models "repairability fails" due to glued-together construction and inability to replace internal batteries.
The lineup reportedly includes a refreshed Apple Pencil Pro codenamed B632 and an updated USB-C Apple Pencil codenamed B582, both designed to address battery replacement concerns.
Apple's packed first half of 2027 includes new MacBook Pro and Macs alongside refreshed Apple Watches, positioning the Apple Pencil updates within a broader hardware refresh cycle.
