Across global markets surveyed by PwC1, 3.9 million pure electric cars were sold in the second quarter of 2026, up 18 percent from a year earlier. Growth was particularly strong in Europe’s five largest car markets (EU5), with expanding supply and lower prices also boosting demand for used electric models, according to PwC’s latest electromobility analysis.
