The German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is considering entering the arms industry now that its own automotive sector is under pressure. CEO Ola Källenius reported this in an interview with The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). "If we can play a positive role in that, we are prepared to do so," the automaker's top executive said regarding European defense ambitions.

Mercedes-Benz, one of Germany's largest automakers, which is facing a decline in sales and profits, could start production for the military, CEO Ola Källenius said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. "The world has become more unpredictable and I think Europe needs to increase its defense capabilities. If we have the opportunity to play a positive role in that, we will be ready to do so," he said.
