Anfield Energy Inc. (TSXV:AEC) - Shootaring Canyon Mill Enters Final Permitting Stretch - Research Portal
Anfield (AEC) announced that Utah's Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (DWMRC) has delivered the Draft Renewed Radioactive Materials License and the Draft Groundwater Discharge Permit for Anfield's Shootaring Canyon mill, the step we have been waiting for. Both documents were issued on October 21, roughly 30 months after the Apr/24 application, and the draft caps production at 1,500 short tons (3M lbs) of yellowcake per year, the capacity the May/26 PEA requires. This is the most meaningful de-risking step for AEC since the May/26 PEA. Draft documents in hand with the 3M lb/yr cap intact move Shootaring, one of only three licensed conventional uranium mills in the US, from review into the final procedural stage. Offsetting this is that 1) the renewal is now targeted for Q2/27, vs. the prior YE/26 guidance, 2) timing of the 45-day public comment period hasn’t been confirmed by the Division, and 3) both the surety amount and ~US$117M of initial Capex financing remain unquantified. With shares down ~70% from it’s 52-week high and trading at ~0.16x P/NAV versus peers at 0.41x, the market appears to be pricing in more risk than is likely warranted. The final license, followed by financing, remain the re-rating catalysts.
