(Renewed) The award ceremony was held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
The Order of the White Eagle waited six months for Andrzej Poczobut to receive it. The oppositionist himself waited 1,860 days to regain his freedom. Poczobut was released from a Belarusian prison on Tuesday. Now, during a ceremony at the Royal Castle, he received the decoration from the president, which he had been awarded on November 11th of last year.
Today in Warsaw, Polish President Karol Nawrocki presented journalist and former political prisoner Andrzej Poczobut with the Order of the White Eagle, Poland's highest state award.

After Poczobut received the decoration, those gathered at the ceremony honored the journalist with a long ovation.
