- Beginning in October, states will assume a larger share of SNAP administrative costs. Starsky Wilson, president of the Children's Defense Fund, warned that states unable to secure funding may be forced to stop providing benefits entirely.
- Experts caution that charitable organizations lack the capacity to replace SNAP for millions of low-income households. With additional policy changes scheduled for later this year, advocates fear increased desperation among families already struggling with high grocery prices.
