American Airlines confirms LEAP engines for A321neo
American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) has selected CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power the remainder of its A321neo fleet on order. The carrier currently operates ten A321-200Ns, seventy-five A321-200NX, and four A321-200NY(XLR)s, all with CFM International engines. It has another 103 standard-range and forty-six XLR units on order from Airbus. Its fleet of ninety-three B737-8s (with seven more due) is powered by CFM's LEAP-1B engines.
