AMD and Meta advance strategic partnership to power Meta's Superintelligence Infrastructure
On Tuesday, Advanced Micro Devices invested $1bn in Meta's equity offering, participating in the $35bn share sale the company launched on Monday to fund artificial intelligence infrastructure expansion.
This investment deepens a strategic partnership that now includes deployment of AMD Helios rack-scale systems at Meta, featuring 72 GPUs per rack to power frontier models and support AI workloads.
The firms are also collaborating on future generations of AMD EPYC processors, including a chip called 'Verano,' and aligning roadmaps for next-generation AMD Instinct MI500 series GPUs to support Meta's workloads.
Meta's broader capital-raising plan targets up to $95bn, with AMD and Nvidia contributing a combined $4bn toward the equity offering, reflecting a trend of chipmakers investing in their customers.
Meta aims to invest roughly $825 billion in future projects to build superintelligence infrastructure, as AMD expects a broader deployment of Helios systems in the near future to support computational demand.
