Ambani's Reliance Enters Ice Cream Market with Launch of Bombay Creamery
Bombay Creamery starts at Rs 10 and will roll out nationwide as Reliance uses its retail and distribution network to challenge established rivals.
On Tuesday, Reliance Consumer Products Limited , the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited, announced its entry into India's ice cream market with the launch of Bombay Creamery.
This launch follows RCPL's broader consumer goods expansion strategy, mirroring the approach used to relaunch Campa, its soft drink brand that previously triggered price competition in the cola market.
Bombay Creamery offers cones, cups, and sticks with prices starting at 10 rupees, positioning itself as an accessible premium dairy brand; executive Krishnakumar said, "dairy shouldn't need shortcuts."
Competing against established players like Magnum and Baskin-Robbins, the brand enters a crowded market where analysts say Reliance's retail network could convert first-time buyers into repeat consumers.
Available immediately in western India, Bombay Creamery will soon roll out nationally, signaling RCPL's long-term commitment to capturing greater wallet share across the packaged goods sector.
