Almost 1,000 participants demonstrated on Saturday evening in Graz against the 70th Academic Ball and against the participation of the blue party in the government. Before the ball began in the Graz Congress, the activists marched from Mariahilferplatz around the Congress, whose immediate surroundings had been banned by the police for security reasons. It was also criticized that the FPÖ's participation in the government was a "danger to democracy".
