Alibag woman dies by suicide, husband and in-laws booked for dowry harassment and abetment

Alibag police registered a case against a mason and his parents for abetment of suicide. The deceased woman's brother alleged dowry harassment by her husband and in-laws. The family demanded significant cash and gold as dowry before the marriage. The deceased woman reportedly faced harassment for remaining dowry payments. The accused have reportedly absconded after the FIR was registered.
