Almost Half of World’s Farmers Poisoned by Pesticides Every Year
A research team has found that scent compounds in cleaning products – conventional and botanical essential oil-based – quickly react in the air, forming nanoparticles that can travel deep into the lungs if inhaled.
Although these measures have reduced the estimated annual deaths to very low levels, from just two in Western Europe to around 60 in Eastern Europe, the problem of acute non-fatal poisonings remains significant.
