Alabama guard Aden Holloway begins 5-game suspension following drug arrest
Coach Nate Oats said Holloway will miss five games after a marijuana arrest, and the charges were later dismissed through pretrial diversion.
Alabama guard Aden Holloway began a five-game suspension on Thursday, following his reinstatement to the Crimson Tide roster after a marijuana-related arrest in March.
Authorities arrested Holloway on March 16 for first-degree marijuana possession; charges were dismissed in September after he completed a pretrial diversion program.
Holloway missed the Crimson Tide's 111-93 win over Furman on Thursday and will also sit out exhibitions against Ole Miss and Auburn plus regular-season games against Sam Houston State and Arkansas State.
Head coach Nate Oats confirmed the suspension stands despite recent team injuries, saying Holloway has "done an outstanding job" preparing to rejoin the program.
Holloway is expected to make his season debut on November 9 against Oakland, returning to a roster where he averaged 16.8 points per game last season.
