Al Pacino to Get Lifetime Achievement Award From the Screen Actors Guild
The union cited his six-decade career and humanitarian work as it named him the 62nd recipient of its highest honor.
SAG-AFTRA announced Thursday that Al Pacino, the 86-year-old actor, is the 62nd recipient of the Life Achievement Award. He will receive the honor at the 33rd Actor Awards on February 28, 2027, at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
The union presents this annual honor to performers who foster the finest ideals of the acting profession. Pacino's recognition includes humanitarian efforts supporting disaster relief, fighting poverty and hunger, and backing local theater companies.
Pacino has earned an Oscar for Scent of a Woman alongside two Tonys, two Emmys, and four Golden Globes. His iconic roles span The Godfather trilogy, Serpico, and Dog Day Afternoon across his seven-decade career.
"Al Pacino is an artist of extraordinary courage, intensity and heart," said SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin. Pacino stated he has "always felt at home with a script and my fellow actors."
The ceremony will stream live on Netflix, marking the 33rd annual event honoring career excellence. Past recipients include Jane Fonda, Barbra Streisand, and Harrison Ford, who received the prize earlier this year.
The famous actor Al Pacino will receive next year an award for his entire career, in recognition of his professional achievements and humanitarian work, announced Thursday the union of SAG-AFTRA actors.
