Akita Prefectural Federation of Labor Unions Urges Early Application of Minimum Wage in Fy2014, Citing "Significant Disadvantages" (Kyodo News)

On October 31st, the revised minimum wage for fiscal year 2025 (1,031 yen per hour) was applied in Akita Prefecture. This was the last application among all prefectures, and six months later than the usual October. The Akita Prefectural Federation of Labor Unions argued that "wages will remain unchanged from the previous year, causing significant disadvantages to workers," and requested that the revision be applied earlier in fiscal year 2026.
