BOGOTÁ (AP) — The government of Abelardo de la Espriella opened the door for the eventual return of operations to eradicate illicit crops by aerial spraying with a controversial herbicide that was banned in Colombia more than a decade ago.
Repealing a 2015 resolution is the first step towards returning to this form of fumigation of illicit crops
The current resumption should take into account those recommendations of the Constitutional Court.
The act of repeal does not imply that glyphosate aerial spraying is immediately reactivated or that new operations with manned aircraft are authorised.
