The X-62A VISTA first flew in April 1992 as the NF-16D, a General Dynamics and Calspan variable-stability testbed. Thirty-four years later the same airframe flew 27 autonomous intercepts under the control of a Lockheed Martin AI agent, using live infrared data from a Legion Pod to find and close on a T-38 Talon. Lockheed disclosed the results on 4 August.
