AIPAC Opens Its Wallet
The group’s super PAC has spent a record $30.6 million in the Michigan Senate primary and another $80 million remains on hand, filings show.
- The American Israel Public Affairs Committee and its super PAC, the United Democracy Project , have funneled more than $104.3 million into the 2026 election cycle, cementing their status as one of the largest spenders on congressional elections.
- In the Michigan Senate Democratic primary, UDP directed $30.6 million supporting Rep. Haley Stevens against progressive epidemiologist Abdul El-Sayed, marking the largest sum ever devoted to a single race.
- Campaign ads from affiliated groups often omit Israel entirely, focusing instead on domestic issues like the economy. AIPAC routed $5.3 million through shell PACs including "Elect Chicago Women" and "Affordable Chicago Now" in Illinois.
- Beyond Michigan, the organization is backing incumbent Rep. Wesley Bell against progressive challenger Cori Bush in Missouri's 1st Congressional District, where UDP pumped more than $3 million last month.
- With $80 million in cash on hand as of June's end, UDP is positioned to continue record-breaking spending through the midterms. The spending surge reflects AIPAC's shift toward direct electoral intervention after 2022.
