CONAKRY – On Monday, August 10, 2026, the Guinean government announced the conclusion of an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on a new 41-month economic and financial programme, supported by the Extended Credit Facility (EFC). This agreement provides for access to financial resources of approximately $425 million.

The objective is that the reduction of the fiscal deficit and adjustment measures will not deepen the economic difficulties of those with lower incomes.
