The employers agreed with the CFDT and the CFTC to reduce the compensation of employees who leave their employer by signing a conventional break, from 18 months to 15 months (20.5 months for those over 55 years), which would bring in 900 million euros per year, at a cruising rate at Unédic.

The employers, the CFDT and the CFTC are ready to sign an agreement to save up to EUR 900 million on this scheme, which accounts for a quarter of unemployment benefits.
With this agreement, if validated by the bodies of the organisations and then by Parliament, the maximum period of compensation would be reduced from 18 to 15 months if the employee is under 55 years of age, and to 20 and a half months from that age.
