NH Boy, 8, Shot Through Wall in Parents' Murder-Suicide
Investigators say the boy was hit by a stray bullet during the shooting and remains in stable condition after being flown to Boston.
Police identified Bianchinies Cruz, 36, and Alisha Cruz, 35, as victims of an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday in Manchester, New Hampshire, where their 8-year-old son was found shot but remains in stable condition.
Officers responded to 59 Wheelock Street at 9:34 a.m. Tuesday for a welfare check after a family member reported a "potential domestic dispute," Manchester Police Chief Peter A. Marr said.
Investigators determined Bianchinies Cruz shot Alisha Cruz multiple times before taking his own life, with one stray bullet striking their son in the torso as he lay in an adjoining bedroom.
The boy remains in stable condition at a Boston hospital, where Senior Assistant Attorney General Alex Kellermann said, "The most important thing is that that child is alive, is in stable condition."
While the motive remains unconfirmed, authorities encourage those experiencing domestic violence to contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline by calling 1-800-799-7233 or texting LOVEIS to 22522.
