‘We’ll Fight This Battle': Mamata Banerjee Urges Opposition to Form ‘Joint Platform’ Against BJP
Banerjee called on opposition parties, student unions and NGOs to unite against the BJP as she alleged threats and atrocities against TMC workers.
On Saturday, Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee appealed to all opposition parties in West Bengal to form a 'joint platform' against the BJP, stating 'our first enemy is the BJP.'
The BJP recently secured power in the 294-member Assembly, winning 207 seats and ending the TMC's 15-year tenure in power, during which the party secured 80 seats.
Claiming atrocities against TMC workers, Banerjee alleged 'hooliganism is going on at places, bad elements have entered' the BJP's ranks following the election results.
National opposition leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray, and RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav sent messages expressing solidarity with Banerjee.
Banerjee is extending her initiative to include student unions and NGOs, emphasizing that opposition forces must unite against the BJP to counter its governance.
