A dog in Germany was diagnosed with rabies last week. The animal had been brought to Germany from Russia in November 2025. The dog showed signs of rabies in mid-January and died. There is no cure for rabies, and the disease is fatal. People can also be infected with the disease. All dogs, cats and ferrets in Estonia must be vaccinated against rabies, the Agricultural and Food Board reminds.
