From 2025, the purchase of new Rottweilers will be prohibited. It has long been scientifically proven that breed lists are nonsense. Something else would be much more important to prevent new dog attacks.
Anyone who already owns such a dog must apply for a permit to keep it. There are currently 350 Rottweilers in the canton.
Following dog attacks on children, the Canton of Zurich is taking action: From January 1, it is banning new purchases of Rottweilers. The list of banned dogs is therefore longer.
