The Mexicans withdrew 27 thousand 52 million pesos from their Afore censuses for unemployment between January and July 2026, according to figures from the National Commission of the Retirement Savings System (Consar). This is a new record for a similar period since the organization began to keep this record in 2005. The figure also represents an increase of 23.4% over the same period of 2025, according to calculations by Banco Base.

The unemployment withdrawals of the Afore reached a historic record, adding 27 billion pesos between January and July 2026, a real increase of 23.4 percent over the same period last year, according to data from the Consar. During July the highest monthly figure was recorded since there were records, with 4,610 million pesos withdrawn.
