Actor Paul Dano responds to Quentin Tarantino’s criticism of him
- On Jan. 28, Matthew Lillard told Entertainment Weekly he kept showing supportive responses to his wife to reassure himself he is still liked, describing it as `like living through your own wake`.
- Months ago, Quentin Tarantino said on The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast he did not `care for` Matthew Lillard and Owen Wilson and called Paul Dano the `weakest fucking actor in SAG`.
- Industry figures publicly defended Lillard, with Mike Flanagan calling him `the goddamn greatest`, James Gunn calling him `one of my favorite guys`, and social-media tributes celebrating him alive.
- The uproar coincides with Lillard's busy slate, including reprising Stu Macher in Scream 7 in theaters Feb. 27 and Find Familiar Spirits releasing Ghost Face Vodka Feb. 9 at $160.
- At festivals and online, Toni Collette and directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris publicly pushed back against Tarantino while Lillard said at GalaxyCon in Columbus, Ohio, months ago that the remarks `hurt your feelings`.
