Government fears further unrest and deploys 70,000 police officers throughout France
In an order consulted by the AFP, the Conseil d'Etat cancelled on Saturday the decision of the administrative court of Paris authorizing the route in the centre proposed by the organizers of the main demonstration Saturday, which had been banned by the police prefecture. The route validated for this day at risk is that proposed by the prefecture, from the gate of Bagnolet to that of Charenton, on the outskirts of the capital.
The route of the Parisian demonstration, which the organizers wanted between Bastille and Nation, was rejected by the Conseil d'État. The route imposed by the police prefecture to the east of Paris is validated.
The route between Bastille and Nation was first banned by the prefecture. But the Paris administrative court suspended the ban order, giving the organizers reason. The government announced to appeal this decision.
