Two thirds of Austrians see society as divided. A new IMAS survey now shows where the deepest ditches run and why many lack orientation.
Two-thirds of the population would describe Austria as a divided country with regard to politics. They perceive increasing social contrasts. This segment of the population sees the main fault lines in the areas of immigration, social welfare systems, and the handling of religions (44 percent), followed by politics and government (35 percent), according to a survey published Wednesday by the Linz-based IMAS Institute.
