- Linking the activist to past controversies, ABVP alleged Khalid's involvement in 2016 JNU protests, Afzal Guru commemorations, CAA-NRC protests, and Delhi riots. Leaders stated "academic campuses must remain dedicated to national integrity."
- Separately, advocate Girish Bharadwaj emailed the NLSIU Vice-Chancellor and Registrar on Saturday urging cancellation, arguing for a "genuinely balanced programme" that includes constitutional scholars, legal experts, and victims of terrorism.
- The organization submitted a formal complaint to NLSIU seeking cancellation of the Monday screening and urged the administration to "immediately cancel all permissions" to preserve institutional integrity.
- Bharadwaj maintained that academic freedom carries institutional responsibility, stating he had no objection to balanced discussions on pre-trial detention, bail, and constitutional freedoms if examined through rigorous academic scrutiny.
