Aaron Rodgers agrees to a 1-year deal to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers: AP
The four-time NFL MVP returns after a 2025 season in which he threw for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns.
On Saturday, four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers, ending a protracted decision-making process that stretched through the offseason.
The contract reunites Rodgers with new head coach Mike McCarthy, who coached him for 13 years in Green Bay, where the quarterback blossomed into one of the game's biggest stars.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the deal is worth up to $25 million, with Schefter writing it includes "base salary between $22 and $23 million, with up to a few million more in incentives."
Rodgers joins a quarterback room featuring veteran Mason Rudolph and Will Howard, a sixth-round choice in 2025, providing time for younger prospects to develop while learning from the veteran.
When Pittsburgh reports for training camp at Saint Vincent College in late July, Rodgers will aim to lead the Steelers back to the playoffs, targeting the franchise's first postseason victory in a decade.
