UTAH- A new study by the University of Utah, based on satellite imagery and fire data dating back to 1986, reveals that this year the state has already broken the record of forests and wooded areas consumed by fire. Although Utah has not yet exceeded the record of total burned acres established in 2007, fires have already consumed about 285,000 acres of forests and wooded areas, the highest amount recorded since 1986.
