6 Wounded, Including 2 Illinois State University Students, in Normal, Illinois Shooting
Six people, including two Illinois State University students, were shot in an off-campus incident with non-life-threatening injuries, police said the shooting appears isolated.
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, Normal Police responded to shots fired at approximately 2:40 a.m. in the 700 block of Franklin Avenue, finding six people with gunshot wounds.
Off campus near Illinois State University, the shooting occurred amid a pattern of campus-area episodes, and what led up to it was not immediately clear, police say.
Police said the victims included two juvenile males, two adult males and two adult females, and all six suffered non-life-threatening injuries; two are Illinois State University students.
