Eric Dane hailed seeing Oasis a 'minor miracle' during ALS battle
Eric Dane's posthumous memoir, "My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments," releases Tuesday, November 3, detailing the early onset of his ALS diagnosis and the moments that defined his final years.
Diagnosed with ALS in April 2025, the Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria star died at age 53 in February 2026, using his platform to raise awareness about the degenerative neurological disorder.
While on holiday in Antigua, Dane realized he could no longer swim, requiring his daughter Georgia and her friend to rescue him from the water—a devastating wake-up call about his declining independence.
Following the near-death experience, Dane and Rebecca Gayheart wept together; he later cherished a final emotional hug with daughter Billie after realizing his physical limitations prevented future embraces.
To lift his spirits, Eric traveled to Tokyo in October 2025 to see Oasis reunite, calling the experience a "minor miracle" amid his declining health.
