Ecuadorian law enforcement authorities have dismantled a network of businesses allegedly used to transport drugs to the European market, following a joint operation with Europol and the Spanish security services, as announced on Thursday (8/10).

Ecuadorian authorities announced on Thursday that, in collaboration with Europol and Spanish law enforcement agencies, they had dismantled a network of companies involved in drug trafficking to Europe. The individuals arrested ran companies that were “used as fronts, not only for money laundering, but also for drug trafficking to European countries,” Ecuadorian Interior Minister John Reberg said in an interview with his country’s radio station.
