The majority of patients who seek assistance to die suffer neurological pathologies or cancer, according to the report published by Sanidad
Castilla-La Mancha registered in 2024 a total of 26 euthanasia applications, eight of which culminated in the effective provision of aid to die, according to the latest report of the Ministry of Health. At the national level, the completed processes amounted to 929, with a notable increase compared to the previous year and a majority profile of applicants over 60 years old, predominantly neurological and oncological pathologies.
Last year 75 people applied in Euskadi for help to die and 50 of them (66.67 % of the total) were granted euthanasia, but 18 people (24%) died during the processing process before their petition was resolved.
