- Two luxury penthouses at 3a Palace Green in London, registered to Iranian banker and businessman Ali Ansari, are up for sale after he defaulted on mortgage payments, according to a Sunday Times report.
- The United States Treasury Department sanctioned Ansari earlier this year, alleging he operates a global financial network benefiting Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
- Knight Frank and Sotheby's International Realty are marketing the properties, describing the larger unit as an "exceptional duplex penthouse" with views over Kensington Gardens. Together, the properties originally cost almost £36 million.
- Private receivers appointed after Ansari's default are selling the apartments to satisfy outstanding mortgage debts. Any remaining funds linked to Ansari will remain subject to asset-freeze restrictions in Britain.
- The European Union also sanctioned Ansari, whose wider European portfolio includes properties in Britain, Germany, Austria, and Spain worth roughly £400 million. Ansari has disputed allegations linking him to the IRGC and Khamenei, calling them "baseless.
