The Wadden Sea can become a real danger to life. 25 hikers could now be rescued unharmed from the North Frisian island of Amrum.
So a group of people interested in Watt had probably not imagined their hike in front of the island: with an experienced guide they start their tour at low tide - until the water cuts off their way. The group leader has to drop off an emergency call.
A Priel was obviously surprisingly not traversable anymore. A group of Wattwanderer no longer came on the way from Föhr to Amrum. She was on the way with a guide who brought help.
Experienced hiking guide has to be saved with 25 participants. What does the drama mean for future tours through the Wadden Sea?
Amrum (dpa/lno) – 25 Wattwanderer have fallen into distress in front of the island Amrum. As the sea rescuers of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwreckers announced, the group could no longer cross a Priel with rising water and thus not reach the island Amrum.
