- A white Honda Accord pulled alongside the consulate at 4:46 a.m. on July 27, firing one shot before fleeing and triggering a high-speed pursuit exceeding 140 km/h. Investigators also linked the pair to a vehicle fire in Caledon three days earlier.
- The incident follows a March 10 shooting at the same building, which spurred a major national security investigation involving the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Authorities have maintained a visible police presence at the site since that earlier attack.
- Chief Demkiw warned of an ongoing trend of young people being offered money for violent acts, calling for systemic interventions to stop the "revolving door" of youth involvement in such contract crimes.
